Utawareru Mono Glossary By Mastress Alita Cast ---- Hakuoro [ハクオロ] - A man discovered wounded in the forest near a small village, with his face sealed behind a mysterious mask and no memories of his past. Eruruu [エルルゥ] - A young woman of the village who finds Hakuoro and helps nurse him back to health. She lives with her grandmother, Tusukuru, and her younger sister, Aruruu, and is an apprentice healer. Aruruu [アルルゥ] - Eruruu's younger sister, who is extremely shy of strangers and has a knack for causing trouble. After warming up to Hakuoro, she affectionately calls him "Otousan" (father). Tusukuru [トゥスクル] - Eruruu and Aruruu's grandmother, who helped heal Hakuoro, and is the one who gave him the name "Hakuoro." She is a healer, and considered one of the best in the land. She is also the chief of the village. Teoro [テオロ] - A member of the village and husband of Sopoku, whom he calls "Kaachan". He is well liked and considered a "father" by many of the villagers. He refers to Hakuoro as "Anchan" (brother), and in turn is called "Oyaji-san" (father) by Hakuoro. Sopoku [ソポク] - Teoro's wife, a large-hearted woman who helps keep her husband in line. She is a sisterly figure to Eruruu, and affectionally called "Oneesan" (sister) by Eruruu. Yaapu [ヤァプ] - An elderly male villager. His name is usually shortened to "Yaa". Uuhamutamu [ウゥハムタム] - A large and muscular middle-aged male villager. His name is shortened to "Uu". Taanakun [タァナクン] - A young male villager. His name is shortened to "Taa". Nuwangi [ヌワンギ] - The son of Sasante, the feudal lord who rules over the region of Tusukuru's village, and nephew of Inkara, the Emperor of the region. He grew up in the village, but now lives a spoiled life in the capital. He speaks very boastfully, calling himself "oresama" (very boastful way of saying "I") and others "temee" (rude way of saying "you"). Oboro [オボロ] - A hot-tempered head to a clan of great hunters, who is living in exile. He is Yuzuha's older brother and extremely protective of her, and initially does not trust Hakuoro. Later they become friends, and he refers to Hakuoro as "Anija" (brother). Dorii and Guraa are his followers. Yuzuha [ユズハ] - A girl who has been ill since birth. She is Oboro's younger sister. Due to her reclusive upbringing, she is very gentle, innocent, and polite, and refers to most people with the honorific "-sama". Dorii and Guraa [ドリィ and グラァ] - Twin archers who serve Oboro, who are very close to each other. They refer to Oboro as "Wakasama" (young master). Sasante [ササンテ] - Nuwangi's father and the feudal lord residing over Tusukuru's village. Inkara [インカラ] - Emperor of Kenashikourube, the country residing over Tusukuru's village. He is Sasante's brother and Nuwangi's uncle. Benaui [ベナウィ] - Emperor Inkara's Retainer and General of the army. He's very cool-headed and dedicated to serving his country. (Note: Benaui's name can also be correctly romanized as "Benawi." Because all of Leaf's official art writes his name as "Benaui", I have chosen to keep this spelling for the summaries.) Kurou [クロウ] - Sub-commander in the army and Benaui's right-hand man. His is rough and reliable in battle. Mukkuru [ムックル] - The cub of the white tiger Mutikapa, who was raised by Aruruu and protects her. Chikinaro [チキナロ] - A mysterious man who appears to work as a spy and messenger. It is hard to tell just what side he is on; he appears to work for whomever will hand over the most gold for his services. Waabe [ワーベ] - Emperor of Onkamiyamukai, father of Urutorii and Kamyu. Munto [ムント] - The High Priest of Onkamiyamukai. He often acts as the messenger on foreign affairs, and also is often the one that has to deal with Kamyu's antics. Urutorii [ウルトリィ] - A princess of Onkamiyamukai, who is very graceful and polite. She is Kamyu's older sister. She is extremely formal, and refers to herself as "Watakushi", the very formal way of saying "I" as opposed to the more common "Watashi". Kamyu [カミュ] - Urutorii's younger sister, and also a princess of Onkamiyamukai, who is loud, energetic, and troublesome. She is very bright and friendly and makes friends with Aruruu and calls her "Aru-chan", and with Yuzuha, and calls her "Yuzucchi". She calls Hakuoro "Ojisama" (meaning uncle or a middle-aged man) much to his chagrin (as he can't believe he'd be considered old). Niwe [ニウェ] - Emperor of Shikeripechimu, a large country to the southwest. Kuuya Amururineuruka [アムルリネウルカ・クーヤ] - Emperor of Kunnekamun, one of three major large countries to the west. Genjimaru [ゲンジマル] - A talented soldier of the Ebenkuruga race who serves Kuuya. Karura [カルラ] - A survivor and escapee of a slave ship, who is a very adept swordsman. She's a very strong and firey person, who considers herself bound to nobody. She is one of the only remaining of the Giriyagina race. Orikakan [オリカカン] - Emperor of Kutcha Ketcha, a country to the east of Tusukuru. Touka [トウカ] - A mysterious roaming soldier of the Ebenkuruga race, working as a traveling mercenary. She is a strong person with a quick-temper. She speaks in a way of extreme formality and is very devoted to her duties. Derihourai [デリホウライ] - A member of the Giriyagina race, who leads the Karurau'atsuurei, the rebel army that revolts against Na Tunku. Katumau [カトゥマウ] - A member of Karurau'atsuurei, who is the one who has trained Derihourai in the martial arts. (Note: Katumau is never shown with an on-screen graphic) Suonkasu [スオンカス] - Emperor of Na Tunku, the country to the south that is involved in keeping slaves. Titles, Positions, and Clans ---------------------------- Ouruo [オゥルォ] - An Emperor. Rakusharai [ラクシャライ] - Calvarymen of an army. Perierai [ペリエライ] - Archers of an army. Omutsikeru [オムツィケル] - Samurai-type warriors of an army. Nakuan [ナクァン] - An elite solo swordsman. Kenamu [ケナム] - A slave. Ankuamu [アンクアム] - A hired soldier. Shishiharu [シシハル] - A clan that lives in Tusukuru. Onkamiyaryuu [オンカミヤリュー] - A winged race of people that live at Onkamiyamukai, that have the ability of magic. Oruyankuru (or Yankuru) [オルヤンクル (ヤンクル)] - The High Priest of the shrine in Onkamiyamukai to the god Witsarunemitea. Munto fills this position. Yomoru [ヨモル] - A nation's priest. They are sent from Onkamiyamukai and oversee shrines and give ceremonies and sermons, but also to oversee balance and help people in misfortune. Kamunagi [カムナギ] - A priestess. They serve mainly in the shrine in Onkamiyamukai to the god Witsarunemitea. Urutorii is one of the Kamunagi. Hitanunta [ヒタンウンタ] - A race of hunters that inhabit Shikeripechimu. Shakukoporu [シャクコポル] - A race of people with long, rabbit-like ears that live in Kunnekamun. They posses giant mecha called Abu Kamuu which they use as weapons. Kunneyetai [クンネイェタイ] - A term used by the Shakukoporu meaning a "Devoted One" to their god, and thus receives divine protection. Ebenkuruga [エヴェンクルガ] - A race of people with small wings on the sides of their head that are gifted at the fighting arts. Giriyagina [ギリヤギナ] - A race that gifted fighting abilities and had great power, but ended up being overruled and exterminated. There are rumors that there may be a surviving Giriyagina. Karurau'atsuurei [カルラゥアツゥレイ] - The rebel army in Na Tunku, that is run by Derihourai. Locations --------- Tsatariiru [ツァタリィル] - The world. Kenashikourube / Tusukuru [ケナシコウルペ / トゥスクル]- The country originally ruled by Inkara, which resides over the village where Hakuoro lives. Is later renamed to "Tusukuru" when Inkara is dethroned. Yamayura [ヤマユラ] - A village in Kenashikourube where Hakuoro is living. Tusukuru is their village elder. Wakkai [ワッカイ] - A village in Kenashikourube that joins with Hakuoro during the revolt against the capital. Yutafu [ユタフ] - A village in Kenashikourube that joins with Hakuoro during the revolt against the capital. Epukara [エプカラ] - A village in Kenashikourube that joins with Hakuoro during the revolt against the capital. San [サン] - A village in Kenashikourube that joins with Hakuoro during the revolt against the capital. Tatokori [タトコリ] - A city in Kenashikourube that is a main through-way to travelers, and runs a toll-gate. A point of attack by Hakuoro's forces. Chenma [チェンマ] - A village in Kenashikourube that is killed off by Emperor Inkara's men even though they were not part of the revolt, as a gesture from the Emperor to show his power over the country. Upakko [ウパッコ] - A city in Tusukuru that falls to Shikeripechimu's forces. Kinuhan [キヌハン] - A city in Tusukuru where the Shishiharu clan live, and a target of Shikeripechimu's forces. Huhoro Castle [ホゥホロ城] - The castle in Kinuhan. Shirotuku [シロトゥク] - A coastal city in Tusukuru. Onkamiyamukai [オンカミヤムカイ] - A large country founded and controlled by the Onkamiyaryuu race of winged-people, and is said to be the oldest country. They act as mediators with other countries. The Head Temple to Witsarunemitea, the great God, is located there. It is ruled by Emperor Waabe. Shikeripechimu [シケリペチム] - A large country to the southwest of Tusukuru. It is ruled by Emperor Niwe, who originally was the leader of a clan of hunters, the Hitanunta. Kutcha Ketcha [クッチャ・ケッチャ] - A country to the east of Tusukuru, ruled by Emperor Orikakan. Engages in war with Tusukuru. Na Tunku / Karurau'atsuurei [ナ・トゥンク / カルラゥアツゥレイ]- A country to the south, that is involved in slave-trade. Is later renamed to "Karurau'atsuurei" when Suonkasu is dethroned. Rarumanionu [ラルマニオヌ] - A city in Na Tunku with an imperial palace that Karura once lived in. Kunnekamun [クンネカムン] - One of three major countries to the west. It is ruled by Emperor Kuuya, and is inhabited by a race of long rabbit-like eared people, the Shakukoporu. Religious Terms --------------- On-kami [オンカミ] - The Great God that presides over the others. Witsarunemitea [ウィツァルネミテア] - The name of the On-kami by the Onkamiyaryuu people. There is a holy shrine of the same name located in Onkamiyamukai for worship of the god, and the ceremonies of birth (Akkun), attaining adulthood (Koporo), marriage (Hashieku), and death (Hahara) are all performed under this God's name. Witsarunemitea is considered the Nuguisomu-kami by the Shakukoporu people. Onbitaikayan [オンヴィタイカヤン] - The name of the On-kami by the Shakukoporu people, which means "The Great Father." Yaanaun-kami [ヤーナゥンカミ] - God of the forest. Mutikapa [ムティカパ] - A white tiger (considered the evil "King of the Forest") that will attack if the worship for protection from Yaanaun-kami is disturbed. Yaanamauna [ヤーナマゥナ] - A "Mother of the Forest", one considered linked to the forest and protected by the Yaanaun-kami. Himu-kami [ヒムカミ] - God of fire. Hoshi-kami [星神] - The Star God. Nuguisomu-kami [ヌグィソムカミ] - God of misfortune. Rayanasomu-kami [ラヤナソムカミ] - God of heavenly light. Kotuahamuru [コトゥアハムル] - Eternal afterlife (Heaven or Hell). Dinebokushiri [ディネボクシリ] - The underworld (Hell). Animals ------- Kimamau [キママゥ] - Monkey-like creatures that eat Mororo from the fields and are nasty-tempered. Woputaru [ウォプタル] - Large lizards that are ridden like horses. Herapetta [ヘラペッタ] - A sea animal that produces the medicine Mapottei. Mikyuumu [ミキューム] - A sacred animal with magical powers that is said to bring good luck or cure any illness if it's liver is eaten. Neu [ネウ] - Animal that produces milk that is drunk by people. Plants ------ Eruruu [エルルゥ] - A flower named after a girl by the same name from an old story. Eruruu was named after this flower. Aruruu [アルルゥ] - A flower named after the sister of Eruruu from the old story, named as such because it grows beside the Eruruu flower. Aruruu was named after this flower. Food ---- Karakara [カラカラ] - A kind of tea. Mororo [モロロ] - A vegetable grown at the village. Chimaku [チマク] - A kind of tea cake. Torori [トロリ] - A filling put inside of the chimaku tea cakes. Karinka [カリンカ] - Fruits soaked in honey. Mocchomo [モッチョモ] - Land sea cucumbers. Hokkomokko [ホッコモッコ] - A rare ingredient (though it is not specified exactly what it is) that was used in Karura's tea. Stones ------ Mui Kouuha [ムィ・コゥーハ] - Purple amber. It's powder can be used as a medicine, and it is very rare. Wau Kaun [ワゥ・カゥン] - Blue sapphire. Ti Kaun [ティ・カゥン] - Ruby. Amuru [アムル] - Diamond. Medicines --------- Mui Kouuha [ムィ・コゥーハ] - An extremely rare medicine that is a powder inside purple amber. It can only be used once, and is said that only a few fragments of it remain. Some people will dedicate their entire lives to finding a fragment of the Mui Kouuha. Mapottei [マポッテイ] - A medicine made by the Herapetta sea animals that is used as an energy medicine. Apparently a common usage of the medicine is for stamina in the bedroom. Red Emperor Bee Honey [紅皇バチの蜜] - The honey made by the Red Emperor Bee, which is extremely sweet to eat, but the scent of it causes a large hallucinatory effect, and is often made into a perfume that acts as an aphrodisiac.
